A New Chapter After Nearly 30 Years ❤️

After almost 30 years of portrait photography, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to sell my country studio and close the portrait studio portion of Picture This Photography. But Picture This is NOT closing!  I’ll continue photographing schools & sports, along with onsite business photography and a limited number of summer outdoor sessions during June & July.

As my school and sports photography has continued to grow, it now takes up the majority of my year. I’m excited to simplify life a little and give those programs my full attention during the school year.  At the same time, closing the portrait studio is emotional. For nearly 30 years, I’ve photographed your newborns, children, seniors, families and weddings. I’ve watched families grow and have made so many wonderful friendships along the way. Thank you for trusting me with your memories and allowing Picture This to be a small part of your lives. You are the reason I’ve been able to do what I love for almost three decades. ❤️

What’s Continuing?

Picture This Photography will continue with:

• School & sports photography

• Onsite business photography

• Summer outdoor sessions — June & July only

• A limited number of new school and sports accounts

Many of my outdoor props and sets have already found a new home at her beautiful 10-acre indoor/outdoor studio, so you may even recognize a few things!  She photographs families, children and babies and is constantly creating new sets and spaces. Jason specializes in high school seniors, families, weddings and business photography. He has been photographing as long as I have and does an excellent job with lighting, posing and creating a fun, relaxed experience.  You may also recognize him because he continues to help me with some of our larger Picture This sports events.

And What Happens to the Studio?

Over the winter, I’ll be turning the studio back into a home and preparing the property to go on the market in spring 2027.

After 15 years of projects, renovations and more DIY adventures than I can count (yes, I’m that person watching YouTube and deciding, “I can build that!” 😂), it will be hard to say goodbye.

​

It’s a peaceful country property on approximately 2 acres, with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a full walkout basement, 3-season porch, open porch and huge deck — along with plenty of deer, birds, 3 barred owls, opossums and other visiting critters.

​

I’ll share a spring preview along with some pretty shocking before-and-after photos of everything I’ve changed over the years.

As for where I’m going next? I’ll still be in the area — I just don’t know exactly where yet!  So stay tuned. 😊
